Professional Statement
The broad and long-term research objective of my laboratory is to provide a molecular understanding of the protein quality control machinery that maintains balance inside mitochondria. On-going research focuses on determining the structure, function, and mechanism of molecular chaperones, membrane-associated proteases, protein kinases, and enzymes using a multi-pronged biochemical and biophysical approach. The goal of our research is to provide a detailed mechanistic understanding of mitochondrial quality control proteins in order to exploit this information for rational structure-based drug development.Websites
