Professional Statement

As an infectious disease epidemiologist, my expertise lies in unraveling the epidemiologic patterns of vector-borne and neglected tropical diseases, with a focus on developing targeted interventions through epidemiological investigations and spatial analyses. I am driven by the challenge of understanding the complex interactions between "place" and health outcomes, particularly how socioeconomic and built environmental factors influence vector abundance and disease transmission. I am dedicated to translating epidemiological data into practical public health policies and interventions, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration to enhance public health outcomes. Also committed to mentorship and education, I strive to cultivate an inclusive research environment that inspires students from historically marginalized backgrounds to pursue careers in science, contributing to the empowerment of future scientists.
