John earned his Biology degree and his Master of Medical Science degree from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge, LA. He is a veteran of the United States Navy with 15 years of service as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2009. He resides in Missouri City, Texas with his wife and two children.
