海角社区 hosted On the Frontline: 125 Years at the Forefront of Medicine, Science and Education yesterday at The Revaire, bringing together leaders in healthcare, alumni, supporters and friends to celebrate the institution鈥檚 historic milestone.

The luncheon highlighted Baylor鈥檚 legacy of medical firsts and its continued role in shaping the future of health through groundbreaking research, education and patient care. Guests enjoyed a panel discussion featuring Baylor President & CEO and Executive Dean, Dr. Paul Klotman, along with Baylor leaders, Dr. Hashem El-Serag, Dr. Gustavo Oderich and Dr. Joseph Rogers, who shared insights on Baylor鈥檚 modern-day breakthroughs in big data, cardiovascular surgery and precision medicine. 

鈥淗aving had the privilege of serving on Baylor鈥檚 Board of Trustees for many years, I鈥檝e seen firsthand how this institution continues to grow and lead,鈥 said Marc Shapiro, longtime board member and supporter, who attended the event. 鈥淏aylor has been home to countless medical marvels throughout its history, and it鈥檚 inspiring to witness how those breakthroughs are still happening today and shaping the future of healthcare.鈥 

The program also featured the inspiring story of patient , whose life was saved by the expertise of the Texas Heart Institute at 海角社区. Blades credited the researchers, physicians and nurses who developed and delivered the life-saving innovations that gave her more time with her husband and children. She and her family have since chosen to give back to Baylor in gratitude and support of future advances. 

鈥淭heresa鈥檚 story demonstrates how Baylor鈥檚 impact goes beyond discoveries 鈥 it changes lives,鈥 Klotman said. 鈥淥ur ability to respond to urgent needs and invest in bold ideas ensures that patients and families everywhere can experience the very best of modern medicine.鈥 

The luncheon closed with a celebratory toast marking Baylor鈥檚 monumental 125th anniversary, honoring past achievements, current innovations and the promise to continue providing healthier tomorrows for patients and families everywhere.
