Baylor Assisted Reproductive Technologies Hands-on Workshop

Target audience: OB/GYN residents and REI fellows
This workshop will include both lectures and hands-on training from recognized Reproductive, Endocrinology, and Infertility faculty.
Workshop objectives:
- Critically appraise the female and male gametogenesis processes, and the variations during IVF stimulation.
- Understand the ART/IVF procedures, including ultrasound monitoring, egg retrieval, semen processing embryo culture, and embryo transfer.
- Learn the basics of fertility preservation: Indications and stimulation, for fertility preservation, and hands-on experience in sperm and egg cryopreservation.
- Familiarize with the IVF laboratory equipment such as incubators, microscopes, micromanipulators, culture media, and cryopreservation systems.
- Receive practical training in essential ART/IVF techniques such as semen analysis, sperm preparation, ICSI, embryo biopsy, vitrification and warming of embryo, embryo culture, and embryo transfer.
