Brief Description
As an International Ambassador for the Vidawasi Foundation, Dr. Nino Rainusso shares how this non-profit foundation is decentralizing access to specialized pediatric care in the Andes region of Peru. Located in Urubamba, Cusco, the Vidawasi foundation seeks to deliver complex surgical and medical care to children living in remote and underserved areas. In addition to clinical services, Vidawasi provides housing for patients and their families and is deeply committed to promoting health literacy in the community.
Biography
Dr. Nino Rainusso is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at º£½ÇÉçÇø. He serves as the Director of the Solid Tumor Program and Co-Director of the Cardio-Oncology Program at Texas Children’s Hospital. He is a board member of the Fundación Peruana de Cáncer and currently serves as an International Ambassador for the Vidawasi Foundation.
